School Supply List

All the important supplies you DO need.

School Supply List: List

Package of Pencils

Please no mechanical pencils. I cannot provide students with lead once the lead runs out in their pencil.

Big Pink Erasers

We make a lot of mistakes while learning and the life of the eraser on our pencils do not last very long.

Colored Pencils

I have lots of crayons. I do not like markers in my room. Students pull the felt out of them and then we have a giant mess. Plus they bleed through the paper onto the desk.

Set of 7 Dividers

We will use these to organize our binders which will house all of our work.

1.5 Inch, 3 Ring Binder

This binder is where students will organize and keep all work and notes for class.

1 Spiral Notebook

Students only need 1 Spiral Notebook for their ScanTek class. The rest of our work will be done on lose leaf paper.

3 Reams of COLLEGE Ruled Paper

The purpose for 5th grade is to get ready for Middle School. In middle school they do not use Wide Ruled paper. Therefore, we will be using college ruled paper this year to help us get ready for 6th grade.

Package of White Hole Reinforcements

Because sometimes our papers rip and we need to keep an organized binder.

1 Pair of Scissors

We do a lot of interactive notebooks that require a bit of cutting. I do recommend a standard, larger pair of scissors for 5th graders. I do notice that the children's scissors are not as easy for them to use.

1 Package of Glue Sticks

We do a lot of gluing as well for interactive notebooks.

Ripped Cardboard

School Supplies You Do NOT Need

These items will be sent home with students on the first day of school.

School Supply List: List

Toys (Fidgets, Popits, Playdoh, Modeling Clay, etc.)

Toys are not allowed at school. We are here to focus and learn so that we can be prepared for middle school.

Permanent Markers

These will be sent home because students will write on themselves, desks, their friends, etc.

Crayola Markers

These will also be sent home. 5th graders love to write on themselves and their desk. It does wash off but it makes a mess.

Liquid Glue (Elmer's Glue)

We do not need liquid glue. Students use this to rub between their palms (just like we did in school). It's messy and just doesn't get used in our classroom.
